This fast-paced seminar deals with a topic that is important to lenders at all levels of responsibility and experience. Loan pricing has always been important, but during the last 10 years, attention to loan relationship profitability methodology has actually declined, even though net interest margins have also declined. The seminar begins at the loan decision point. A major theme of the program is that banks do make high risk loans...and that is OK. What is not OK is not understanding the risk being accepted by the bank. And, once the risk is understood, the bank must respond by properly structuring and pricing the loan. Questions and answers will be the order of the day as Bob Ullom provides practical guidance based on 20 years of bank lending and management experience. His lively, often humorous "real world" presentations have been well received by over 10,000 bankers annually. A complete ready-to-use handout will enable each participant to return to work with the information needed to implement procedures appropriate to your bank.
Basic assumptions of most profitability analysis tools;
Problems and pitfalls of acquiring and using necessary deposit, loan and expense data;
Risk and Cost of Capital aspects of loan relationship profitability;
The importance of consistent application of appropriate tools/techniques; and
Examples of profitability tools presented and applied through case study.
Bob Ullom brings over 20 years of bank lending and management experience to this fast-paced program. Before becoming a speaker, Bob led two start up banks to profitable, sound status by applying the skills and ideas presented in this seminar. He teaches over 12,000 bankers annually in seminars in over 38 states on a variety of lending, management, sales and regulatory topics.
