Compliance Peer Group The Georgia Bankers Association’s Compliance Peer Group was established in response to many requests received from bankers across Georgia. The Peer Group is for compliance professionals whether you wear your compliance hat full time or part time. Our goal is to facilitate compliance officers helping each other navigate the ever-changing rules of regulatory compliance. The Peer Group is facilitated by member bankers and meets three times a year in Macon. The agenda for the meetings usually include training on the most significant compliance issue of the moment followed by round table discussions and a working lunch. Most participants attend all meetings although there is no long term commitment and each meeting is open to any member. Several GBA Associate Members specialize in compliance and often attend the meetings as presenters or participants. A spin off of the Peer Group was a new standing committee within the Georgia Bankers Association, the Compliance Committee. This committee is primarily responsible for planning the annual Compliance Conference. The Peer Group and Compliance Committee also work closely with GBA professional development staff to help plan the extensive compliance educational curriculum.
