The Senate is debating the Obama/Dodd financial regulatory reform bill this week and amendments are flying. One of the first amendment adopted is intended to end too-big-to-fail. But an early amendment casualty was one attempting to reign in the unprecedented powers of the proposed Consumer Financial Protection Bureau. It failed almost along party lines.
