Q: What led you to a career in banking?
A: My background is technology related. I spent the first 10 years of my career in technology focused positions. A friend of mine who is now the CEO reached out to see if I would be interested in a job at the bank. They were looking for someone with a technical background that they could teach banking to. I liked the idea of going back to a smaller organization and having the opportunity to learn the banking world, so I packed up and moved. I’m coming up on 16 years here and have been blessed to have the opportunity to learn and work in many areas of the bank.

Q: What was the most useful piece of advice you received in the early/formative years of your career?
A: Be curious and try to find areas where you can add value.

Q: Tell us more about one experience you’ve had that exemplifies being a banker or your role at the bank.
A: No single experience or story comes to mind, but really looking after our customers is something we all strive to do here at our bank. We all have our “frequent flyers” we see about and spoil from a banking perspective, but I believe that’s what exemplifies being a good banker.

Q: What would someone be surprised to learn about you?
A: I’m a techie at heart but I would go back to a good flip phone any day of the week.

Q: Pet peeve?
A: Being late! It’s so easy to be on time and demonstrates you’re dependable.

Q: Most used app?
A: Reddit. There is something for everyone in there.

Q: TV show or series you love?
A: My TV time is pretty slim these days as the Disney channel dominates a lot of the viewing by my two small children, but whenever I have a chance to put on something mindless, a good rerun of The Big Bang Theory is my go-to.
