GBA Roundtables

Upcoming GBA Roundtable Schedules

Getting your job done as a banker in today's environment is tough. And, no one knows your business and your job like another banker. Our GBA-U roundtables allow enlightened executives to turn to one another for ideas, information and support.

You don't have to test every idea for yourself or rely solely on internal resources and your own experiences to come up with creative solutions to difficult problems. We have four sets of peer roundtables to suit a variety of executive development needs.

President / CEO Roundtables
Running a bank has never been tougher. You need all the insight, experience and ideas you can get. In an age of information saturation when bankers can turn to any number of sources for problem solving, the peer connections and in-depth discussions from these roundtables is a powerful tool for Georgia's top bank executives. There are five roundtable groups for bank chief executive officers, and each meets three times a year.  The membership in each peer group kept to a small group from non-competing markets. These peer groups are professionally facilitated by Elaine Demarest, president of Demarest Strategy Group, Hilton Head, SC. GBA staff assists Elaine in preparing meeting materials but does not attend the meetings.

Finance/Operations Roundtables
The Finance and Operations functions are critical to success in community banks. Senior finance and operations officers shoulder responsibility for ever broadening and increasingly complex issues. There are four roundtable groups for bank senior finance or operations officers, and each meeting twice a year. These peer groups are professionally facilitated by Elaine Demarest, president of Demarest Strategy Group, Hilton Head, SC. GBA staff assists Elaine in preparing meeting materials but does not attend the meetings.

GBA is dedicated to helping member banks adapt and strengthen their lending programs as well as develop the skills of their senior lending officers. Our GBA Senior Lending Officer Roundtables provide an in-depth look at all the latest issues a senior lending officer needs to understand to cultivate new business, evaluate risk and strongly support profitability. And, the unique peer connections forged from a well-organized roundtable can be essential. The facilitator for these roundtables is Karl Nelson. Nelson is the Founder and CEO of KPN Consulting, an organization engaged in the ALCO, Funding, and Liquidity arena. To participate in a roundtable, an individual must be senior level officer in the lending area of the institution and participation must be preapproved by his / her President / CEO.
